Verse 19:1

كٓهٰيٰـعٓـصٓ​ ۚ‏

K.H.Y.'A.S. Kaaf Ha Ya 'Ain Saad (Kareem the Honored, Haadi the Guide, Yaamen the Bounteous, 'Aleem the Knower, Saadiq the True, states that)

Verse 19:2

ذِكۡرُ رَحۡمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَـبۡدَهٗ زَكَرِيَّا ​ ۖ ​ۚ‏

Mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zacharias.

Verse 19:3

اِذۡ نَادٰى رَبَّهٗ نِدَآءً خَفِيًّا‏

When he called out to his Lord in the secrecy of his heart. [3:37]

Verse 19:4

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّىۡ وَهَنَ الۡعَظۡمُ مِنِّىۡ وَاشۡتَعَلَ الرَّاۡسُ شَيۡبًا وَّلَمۡ اَكُنۡۢ بِدُعَآٮِٕكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا‏

He said, 'My Lord! My bones have turned brittle and my head is shining with gray hair, and I have never remained unblessed in my prayer to You, my Lord.'

Verse 19:5

وَاِنِّىۡ خِفۡتُ الۡمَوَالِىَ مِنۡ وَّرَآءِىۡ وَكَانَتِ امۡرَاَتِىۡ عَاقِرًا فَهَبۡ لِىۡ مِنۡ لَّدُنۡكَ وَلِيًّا ۙ‏

Now I fear what my relatives will do after me. (I am concerned about the heritage of my ancestors such as Jacob.) But my wife is barren. Oh, Give me from Your Presence, a successor.

Verse 19:6

يَّرِثُنِىۡ وَيَرِثُ مِنۡ اٰلِ يَعۡقُوۡبَ ۖ ​ وَاجۡعَلۡهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا‏ 

Let him be my heir and the heir of the house of Jacob and make him, my Lord, worthy of Your acceptance.'

Verse 19:7

يٰزَكَرِيَّاۤ اِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلٰم اۨسۡمُهٗ يَحۡيٰى ۙ لَمۡ نَجۡعَلْ لَّهٗ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ سَمِيًّا‏

He was told, 'O Zacharias! We give you the good news of a boy whose name shall be Yahya (John the Baptist). We have never given this name to anyone before.' [19:65]

Verse 19:8

قَالَ رَبِّ اَنّٰى يَكُوۡنُ لِىۡ غُلٰمٌ وَّكَانَتِ امۡرَاَتِىۡ عَاقِرًا وَّقَدۡ بَلَـغۡتُ مِنَ الۡـكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا‏

Zacharias exclaimed, 'My Lord! How can I have a son when my wife is barren and I am already infirm with old age?'

Verse 19:9

قَالَ كَذٰلِكَ​ۚ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ وَّقَدۡ خَلَقۡتُكَ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ وَلَمۡ تَكُ شَيۡـًٔـا‏

He said: Thus it is. Your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me. I created you before, and you were nothing.' [The infertility in his wife was treated. 21:90]

Verse 19:10

قَالَ رَبِّ اجۡعَلْ لِّىۡۤ اٰيَةً​  ؕ قَالَ اٰيَتُكَ اَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلٰثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا‏

Zacharias said, 'My Lord! Give me a special message.' He said, 'The message is that you shall not speak to people for three (days and) nights consecutively.' [3:40-41. Vow of silence - 19:26. He was not struck dumb (as claimed in Luke: 1:20-22)]
